We're getting organized, still looking for good team members though. Personally I am focusing on how to make my way back into music. It's been so long, I've forgotten how to live. I think in the next few months I'm moving again to settle down and going full throttle on work. Saving the money and I will know soon enough. By the way, we're not changing our name because of the "veoh" thing. We've been around too long and no one has said anything worth changing for... since it's more of an abbreviation, there would be no point. It's our identity for the most part. well, hope you all are doing good right now. Up until now we have been completely oblivious to a site called "veoh.com" which is pronounced the same way as "vveow.com". We would just like everyone to know there is absolutely no affiliation with this site what-so-ever. If you've been around for awhile and know the history of our site you'd know that "vveow" stands for "Victoria valo's end of wanderings" and nothing further. god knows what "veoh" stands for but its not us. We are still a secret society, still a freelance business, and still we are the librisains. However on a sad note directing your attention to whois lookup on both "veoh" and "vveow": veoh.com was apparently created 24-Jun-05 and vveow.com was created 2006-07-20. we don't know what's up with that but there is nothing we can do since their domain seems to be created first. even though we had the idea first... copyright strictly dose not protect ideas. especially in the case that we would not be able to prove any ideas we had. now on a lighter note the society site, as you know it isn't a sub domain of vveow.com and there isn't a need to worry about changing any names. But we are going to be using vveow.com as a news site and a business site for the society like always... with the slight difference that we will be doing business under the same name as the society as to avoid confusion or we might just use vvunderground. Whichever the case(you'll know when we know). upper staff shortage services/portfolio page isn't up yet. We might do that in a week or so. anyways you all take care and keep handing out those ads. Two new web servers are to arrive at HQ this week, ushering in a new era of quality hosting for Vveow.com. Unlike previous web servers, which are nothing more than glorified desktop computers in rack-mountable boxes, these new servers from HP are industrial-strength. Each server is expected to do the job of all servers from before.Nothing like we've ever seen. We recently were maxing out a 300mbps dedicated fiber connection - the jump to 700mbps will likely follow immediately after the implementation of the second file server. With all programing done and us just sitting here waiting for our servers, we can't wait until we're finally back online with full force. Be sure to sign up for beta or join volunteer staff before we set up login, because there's only 10,000 free slots and once we go live it's going to be the usual $4 a month/$48 a year to join thereafter. so why pay when you can get it free? forever! |
